Matt Paysour

Associate Extension Agent, Family and consumer sciences, SNAP-Ed

Matt Paysour is a Registered Dietitian and serves as FCS SNAP-Ed Extension Agent for Charlottesville/Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, and Nelson Counties.

As an FCS SNAP-Ed Extension Agent, Matt reaches SNAP-eligible youth with healthy lifestyle education through train-the-trainer programs. Matt partners with schools, after-school programs, and a variety of other public institutions. In partnerships, Matt offers curricula, training, resources, and technical assistance to empower teachers, staff, and volunteers to implement nutrition education programs in places where they work or serve.

Matt is also involved in policy, systems, and environmental (PSE) change work. PSE work involves working with community coalitions, schools, food pantries, and food retailers to promote healthy food access and make healthier choices an easier choice in places where people live, work, learn, shop, and play.
